One of the distilleries we visited at the Spirit of Speyside was Glenglassaugh. This is a distillery that has been abandoned for many years, but was re-opened for a few years ago.
They are back with full strenght, and with them they have some of the most recognized figures in the discipline. We who were there, did taste some that has been stored from before they were closed. This was a fabulous whiskey.
The most exciting was the young new made. We tested those which had been just nine months in the barrel. We were immediately fascinated. Great body and a distinct taste of vanilla. In a blind test, we've never guessed that it was so young.
Glenglassaugh now sells small barrels of about 50 liters, which they store for buyers. We have planned to go to the purchase of one or more of these. We welcome interested to join us in becoming a shareholder of a barrel. The price of a share will be £ 50, -.
If you are interested in becoming a part owner, or wants more info about this, send us an email.
